Nia's Critique of Starry Night

  • I like this picture because of the contrasting colors. The designs are interesting and new. The painting as a whole is pretty neat.

  • I think that the bright yellow and dark blue compliment each other very nicely.

  • From observing this illustration, I can assume that Vincent Van Gogh was using the illusion of day and night.

  • I like the background. I like that the focus is very general instead of on the houses. The harmony is great.

  • The texture of the painting is very unique.

  • The shape of the tree is made up of lines.

  • The size of the houses wasn't very proportional, in my opinion.

  • The mass of the tree was very large, and the object came across as eye catching.

  • The colors in the painting came across as very abstract.

  • Overall, I was very impressed with the unity of the illustration.
